Abstract

In this project, carried out in a secondary school, hydroponic basil cultivation was used as a teaching tool for the implementation of the scientific method adopting the IBSE (Inquiry-Based Science Education) methodology. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of light on plant growth. The students, working in small groups, participated in all phases of the experimentation, from design to data interpretation, demonstrating that they had acquired scientific, computing and digital skills in accordance with the ministerial guidelines for STEM disciplines.
