The batifile fish Chauliodus sloani is frequently found on the Abyss Beach of Punta Pezzo - Cannitello in Calabria in the Strait area, places included among those indicated for the historical myths of Skylla and Charybdis, still present and visible. This species lends itself lends itself to representing the Myth as re-published in lyric poetry in 290 B.C. by authors who lived in the Straits area.
