This paper presents the results of the survey “You, today, and tomorrow: tell us what you think”, conducted in the spring of 2024 on a sample of 2,826 middle-school and high-school school students in the province of Belluno. The study, promoted by the Provincial Student Council in collaboration with the local school administration office and Schools Network for a World of Solidarity and Peace, offers a significant statistical overview (approximately 40% of reference school population) on the well-being, digital habits, and future prospects of young people. Data analysis reveals statistically significant correlations between extensive use of social networks, distress, and various forms of addiction. The picture that emerges suggests that ‘online life’ is not simply a hobby, but a determining environmental factor in shaping both mental health and perception of the future of the younger generation.
