The untamed monkey

By describing nature as ruthless, we have emphasized the struggle, forgetting how much animals, like humans, depend on the ability to cooperate. We think that an undomesticated animal is “wild” in the most dangerous and aggressive sense. In reality, the undomesticated monkey is not at all uncontrolled and free from social rules, as the examples and research presented in this article demonstrate.
