The photos and text illustrate the courtship and mating of butterflies of the species Favonius quercus, belonging to the family of Lycaenidae. In nature it is not easy to observe the courtship of Lycaenidae, because this phase lasts a few dozen seconds and the specimens tend to mate immediately after emerging
