Sepiolinae
Abstract
In this column, we present one zoological family group at a time, as an example of animal variety. The family is a taxonomic unit containing a set of species having certain characteristics in common, the result of evolution, which testify to the origin from a single progenitor. Sometimes, families, especially if they contain very diverse genera, can be divided into subfamilies. This is the case of the "portrait" dedicated to Sepiolinae, a subfamily of Sepiolidae, a taxon that includes small cephalopods.
