Chrysididae
Abstract
In this column, we present one zoological family group at a time, as an example of animal variety. The family is a taxonomic unit containing a set of species having certain characteristics in common, the result of evolution, which testify to the origin from a single progenitor. This “portrait” is dedicated to Chrysididae, a family belonging to the order of Hymenoptera. They are distributed throughout the world with more than 3000 species; There are around 250 of them in Italy.
