PFAS: un caso di contaminazione ambientale di dimensioni planetarie
Parole chiave:
PFAS, Environmental pollution, Human healthAbstract
The acronym PFAS refers to polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances, anthropogenic
chemical compounds that have been widely used since the late 1940s in the production
of a wide range of commercial and industrial products. These substances are stable and
persistent in the environment, a condition that has earned them the nickname “forever
chemicals”. PFAS have the potential to produce a wide range of adverse effects on human
health. Around the world, various national and supranational authorities are actively and
continuously working on legislation to reduce the release of PFAS into the environment.
