Abstract

An incessant campaign seeks to pass NTG (New Genetic Technologies) through the European Parliament as an eligible variant of the currently banned GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms). The campaign is based on “scientific” assumptions that are obsolete to the point of being false and does not take into account the failures of GMOs that exist today. In addition to asking to be prudent (the traditional “precautionary principle”), we must insist on drawing attention to the false theoretical framework of old and new genetic technologies and the duty of scientific precaution not to implement them in the Earth’s ecosystem.
