Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explore Locke’s early reception through the lens of the methodology of the history of knowledge by using the tool of reviews. It focuses on the text Extrait d’un Livre Anglois qui n’est past encore publié, intitutlé Essai Philosophique concernant L’entendement, on its early reception among scholars and friends, and how their feedbacks nurtured Locke’s thought and shaped the 1689 edition of An Essasy Concerning Human Understanding.
