Cristina Pompa is an associate professor of anthropology at the Federal University of São Paulo and coordinator of the Brazilian project "Crise da presença e reintegração religiosa: atualidade de Ernesto De Martino," as part of which a translation of The Land of Remorse into Portuguese is being produced .
